We’re committed to accessibility in our publishing – we aim to publish books that will make life and work better for everyone, and we want everyone to have access to those ideas. Here’s how it works:
- ebook standards: We produce EPUB3.3 files for all our books, in compliance with the European Accessibility Act (June 2025). That means we also provide accessibility metadata and alt text and long descriptions for imagery and tables. This new standard applies to all new books (ie since 1 January 2025): we’re gradually working back through the backlist to ensure that older books are also meetings this new standard for accessibility. If you require an accessible version of a backlist ebook that is currently not available in that format, please contact us at info@practicalinspiration.com and we’ll make it happen.
- RNIB partnership: we work with RNIB Bookshare UK, to make accessible ebooks available alongside our print books for institutions committed to providing inclusive learning experiences.
- print books: we aim to meet best practice standards for contrast, readability and layout in all our print titles too.
